COVID-19 Statement

To our A&C customers and the Staten Island community:

 

We have been monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation very closely and nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our community, customers and employees. 

 

Having served our community for over 3 decades, we thank you for your patronage and believe it is critical for A&C to do our part in protecting our community, customers and employees.  As such, we want to make sure all A&C customers know what to expect when visiting our store in the coming weeks; as well as how we at A&C are responding to the evolving COVID-19 situation.

 

In addition to more stringent cleaning and sanitizing procedures implemented for the store (including carts and baskets) and updating and reinforcing prevention measures with our staff;

 

AS OF THURSDAY 3/19/20 A&C WILL LIMIT THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS SHOPPING AT ONE TIME AND PROVIDE EARLY ACCESS HOURS DEDICATED TO SENIOR CITIZENS. (7am to 9am)

 

STORE HOURS/LIMITED ENTRY

 

We at A&C will continue to do our best to keep our regular hours in an effort to continue to serve the community and our customers. In an effort to do our part, A&C will be taking active measures to contain the fast spreading nature of this virus. We will begin as of Thursday, 3/19/2020 implementing a limit on the number of customers shopping in the store at one time.  As of now our operating hours will be:

Monday - Friday  6am to 6pm;  Saturday: 7am to 6pm; Sunday:7am to 5pm

 

Daily priority access during early hours of operation from 7am to 9am will be dedicated solely for the shopping needs of our senior citizens; who are one of the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19. A&C wants to provide these at-risk customers with the ability to shop at the beginning of each day to avoid busier and more crowded periods.  

 

Although ID will not be requested for entry, we ask that you please respect the purpose of the early access. (A&C reserves the right to ask customers to leave if they are not a member of these groups.)

 

During our general access we at A&C will do our best to limit the number of in store shoppers to a safe capacity and place taped identifiers in front of the deli, meat and register counters to help enforce social distancing in accordance with recommendations by the NYC Department of Health, the CDC and WHO (World Health Organization).

 

A&C urges the elderly or anyone in a high-risk category to use our delivery or curb side pick-up service, (10am to 5pm Mon- Sat). In addition, if you are sick or believe you may have been in contact with someone who is, we ask that you call to request a NO Contact Delivery.

 

SUPPLY AND DEMAND

Due to the impact COVID-19 (is placing on the retail industry around the world, supplies are becoming limited. Pressures on the supply chain are creating difficulties in keeping up with demands. This, coupled with the high volume we at A&C are seeing across all departments, is effecting availability on items at A&C. Please know that we continue to receive shipments on a regular basis and although amid this crisis A&C may not have every variety available, we are working hard to give our customers options in each category. Due to the limited supply of certain essential items, customers can expect to see purchase restrictions on items such as eggs and water. 

 

A&C urges all our customers to visit the CDC (www.cdc.gov) and the World Health Organization (www.who.int) to learn more information about COVID-19 and prevention measures.
